Opening seminar of Arctic Sports Cluster was held at Santasport

Development of the Arctic Sports Cluster project organized the opening seminar at Santasport Sports Institute of Lapland on September 27. The seminar included speeches about the business world and the development of Ounasvaara. Principal Heikki Hannola opened the event and reviewed the role of Santasport Sports Institute of Lapland as a mover of the Lapland region and in the national framework.
Working life professor Sami Kalaja from the University of Jyväskylä described in his speech the role of perceptual motor skills in various sports performances and more widely. Timo Koljonen from Silmäasema Oy opened about the visual sense of athletes and exercisers and vision testing in the industry. Entrepreneur Tanja Poutiainen-Rinne from Comeback Center Oy told the perspective of the rehabilitation company and opened up the company’s future prospects in the Ounasvaara ”ecosystem” and within the the European InShape (i3) project’s networks. The Head of Product Concepts, Ville Kemppainen from Lappset Group Oy, talked about the role of sports parks in increasing daily exercise and opened up the prospects for Lappset’s product development in different parts of the world.
The seminar was attended by students and adult students of the University of Sports, entrepreneurs, clubs, regional developers and other interested parties.
–Within the framework of the cluster project, we will be present in Ounasvaara in different ways in the future. A lot of development work also takes place in a self-directed way as networking and cooperation between companies, Project Manager Niko Niemisalo summed up the morning’s presentation.
